Haute Couture

Haute Couture is French for “high dressmaking, high sewing or high fashion” and that is exactly what it is.

Haute translates literally to "high".
Couture translates literally from French as "dressmaking", but may also refer to fashion, sewing, or needlework.

This is fashion and style for the highest class.
Haute couture is personal design made by hand from top to finish, using the best quality, expensive and very often rare materials.
The French term haute couture is protected by law and only a small number of members can legally label themselves as Haute Couture.

In addition to a long list of rules and regulations that these “houses of high fashion” must abide by to keep their status they must also present no less than fifty completely original designs to the public twice a year, in January and July, both day and evening pieces.

Haute couture is high society fashion which brings the dreams of man and woman into a reality on the catwalk, the red carpet and even on the sidewalk of New York City.
