CONTRAFASHION – Really Scary Feather Fashion

CONTRAFASHION is a Russian based design group that conducted their spring summer men’s and women’s catwalk looks at the Mercedes-Benz fashion week in Russia.

If you ask me these looks are even too scary for Halloween.  

Just take a look at this super creepy feather fashion.

This last picture doesn’t have any feathers but I just had to show it to you anyway.

Spring Feather Fashion 2016 – Spread Your Wings & Fly

I always feel like spring s the best feather fashion season. The style of feathers is just so in touch with the waking up of the world after the long cold winter nights. All the colors of the feathers seem to be in invitation for the freedom that the coming summer months are promised to bring forth.

So of course this year will be no different than all those past, just better.

What do we have in store for you here? Well we are going to start off with some super cool feather shoes, then these stunning feather gowns and finish off with feather fringes for desert.

Now let’s get started with these great shoes by Marco de Vincenzo. More of a sandal than a shoe adorned with a very nice arrangement of flowers.

Next up these awesome feather boots from Henry Holland perfect for those cool spring nights that still have a bit of lingering winter in them.

These three feather gowns created by Geogina Chapman and Keren Craig are more then I could put down in words so I will just let you feast your eyes on them.

To finish off we bring you this fringe at Sophie Theallet from NOWFASHION.

D.I.Y Feather Valentine Wreath

Valentine’s Day is just next week! Here is a great way to decorate your door in the spirit of the season.

I feel like if there is any holiday that feathers fit into it is Valentine’s Day.

We have written posts before about feather wreaths but I don’t think there was one yet about a valentine feather wreath. But then again there isn’t much of a difference, just the shape and the color.

Here is a cute post about making a valentine heart shapedfeather wreath.

She talks about buying a heart shaped Styrofoam but if you want to be more D.I.Y gung-ho then you can make it out of paper mache.

Then all you need to do is wrap the heart shape in a nice pink feather boa and you are all set.

If you prefer you can also go with a red boa.

And you don't need to use a heart shape.

DIY Feather Peplum

The feather peplum is a great accessory for fancying up any outfit.

You can ware it even with your jeans and t-shirt and in a flash, you are totally styling.

Now these can be made really easily using feather fringes.

I found this video on youtube on how to make them.

She talk for a bit so if you want to get right to the DIY part move forward to 3:25.

Now just think what you can do with some of these great colored fringes.

Feather Scarves For The Winter

Oh it is cold outside!

Beside for feather boots the only feathers that I see people wearing around in this cold weather are down feathers.

But of course those aren’t the feathers we are interested in here. We want the feathers that you can see, that are colorful beautiful and flap in the wind.

Now I was thinking about a feather scarf and of course you could just buy a nice thick feather boa and that could work. But the question is would it do the job for the really cold weather? I am not sure.

So I found two nice feather decorated scarves out there but wow if you just want to be a little creative I feel like the possibilities are endless with feather scarves.

Just think about how easy these can be to make yourself. Now imagine what you can do with feather fringes and feather boas!

What is really great about them is just think about how easy they would be to make.

All you need is any pair of boots and some of your favorite feathers and you can make great feather boots.
